KODIAK — The M/V Tustumena will be coming back into service earlier than anticipated, according to a representative from the Alaska Department of Transportation. The Alaska Marine Highway System is taking bookings for the Tusty for May 14, when it is scheduled to depart Homer, and beyond. The ferry is scheduled to arrive in Port Lions at 7 a.m. May 15, before stopping in Ouzinkie and Kodiak.

“The Tustumena is coming into service a few days early, so we were able to get her scheduled,” said Aurah Landau, a public information officer for the Alaska Marine Highway System. “They were able to finish work ahead of schedule.”
