At 2:45 p.m., the Kodiak Police Department called Alaska State Troopers to report an ambulance was responding to the residence of a 65-year-old female resident of Kodiak. EMS and troopers responded and further investigation revealed she passed away from a terminal illness. Family members were present during her death and Comfort One paperwork was on file.
Thursday, May 8
At 6:06 p.m., Alaska Wildlife Troopers stopped a van at Mile 4 of the Chiniak Highway. Investigation revealed that a 32-year-old male resident of California was driving under the influence. He was arrested and remanded to the Kodiak jail on the charge of driving under the influence.
Saturday, May 10
At 10:30 p.m., a 20-year-old male resident of Kodiak was arrested for violating release conditions when he failed to remain in the custody of his third party custodian. He was remanded to the Kodiak City Jail without incident. He was on release from a class C felony offense making the charge of violation of release conditions a class A misdemeanor.
Monday, May 12
At 10:47 a.m., troopers were notified of a theft. Further investigation revealed a truck was parked at the Island Air long-term airport area parking lot in which the rear taillights were stolen. The investigation continues and troopers requests if any persons have knowledge of the theft, to contact 486-4121 or through Crime Stoppers at 486-3113.
