Jan. 25

At 9:56 a.m., Alaska State Troopers responded to report of a domestic disturbance between roommates at a residence off Mission Road. The investigation found that a Marcus Benton, 24, threatened a roommate with a weapon and fled before the troopers arrived. The man was not located. Troopers received an arrest warrant for domestic violence assault in the third degree for Benton. Anyone with knowledge of his location is asked to call the troopers at 486-4121 or Crime Stoppers at 486-3113.

Jan. 27

At 3:56 p.m., AST responded to a domestic disturbance report at a residence off Spruce Cape Road. The investigation revealed a Kodiakan was intoxicated and assaulted a family member. The resident was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence assault in the fourth degree and was taken to the Kodiak Jail.

Feb. 2

At 9:24 a.m., Alaska State Troopers responded to a domestic disturbance report at a residence off Spruce Cape Road. The investigation revealed a 16-year-old had marijuana. He was released to his parents and a charge of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the sixth degree was forwarded to Kodiak Juvenile Justice.

At 7:45 p.m., a male resident of Larsen Bay was injured in a four-wheeler crash. The U.S. Coast Guard was notified and the man was flown to Kodiak with head injuries. The trooper investigation revealed the man ran off the road and rolled the four wheeler and was pinned until village responders rescued him. The investigation is ongoing.

Feb. 3

At 8:33 a.m., a Kodiak resident reported that sometime during the last two weeks, his shotgun went missing or was stolen from his vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.

At 11:02 a.m., Alaska State Troopers received a report of a vehicle crash in Ouzinkie near the city office. The troopers found that an Ouzinkie woman ran off the road and collided with a dump truck parked on the side of the road. The woman’s car was totaled and the dump truck received minor damage. The woman was not wearing a seatbelt, received suspected serious injuries and was flow to Kodiak. Alcohol is believed to be a factor. The investigation continues.
