OCT. 2 

• At approximately 12:20 a.m., Alaska State Troopers assisted the Kodiak Police Department with the service of a warrant.

• At approximately 12:36 p.m., Alaska State Troopers received a report of an abandoned vehicle. Troopers responded to the call and contacted the complainant at the scene.

• At approximately 1:33 p.m., Alaska State Troopers received a report of a possible DV Assault in the Kodiak Island Borough. Investigation ongoing.

• At approximately 3:37 p.m., Alaska State Troopers in Kodiak were dispatched along with Kodiak Fire Department for a single-vehicle motor vehicle collision at mile marker 5.5 of Rezanof Drive, adjacent the state airport. Investigation revealed that the operator, Edward Denato, 56 years old of Kodiak, was traveling West on Rezanof Drive when he fell asleep at the wheel, causing his vehicle to collide with a guardrail along the shoulder. Denato was contacted on scene and refused medical attention. He was then placed under arrest for DUI and driving in violation of a license limitation. Denato was remanded to Kodiak Jail.

• At approximately 10:27 p.m., Kodiak Police Department received a 911 hangup call. Troopers responded to the traced location of the call. Investigation revealed it was an accidental pocket dial.

OCT. 3 

• At approximately 11:14 a.m., Alaska State Troopers received a call regarding a request for a neighborhood patrol in Kodiak. Troopers responded.

• At approximately 1:47 p.m., Alaska State Troopers received a report of suspicious circumstances in the Kodiak Island Borough. Investigation ongoing.

• At approximately 3:50 p.m., Alaska State Troopers received a report that an individual may have violated their conditions of release. Alexander Velasco-Ayala, 26 years old of Kodiak, was arrested for VCOR and unlawful contact, and was transported to the Kodiak Jail without incident.

• At approximately 5:30 p.m., Alaska State Troopers received a report of a runaway juvenile in Kodiak. Troopers recovered the juvenile later that evening.

• At approximately 5:58 p.m., Alaska State Troopers received a report regarding an off-highway vehicle complaint in Kodiak.

OCT. 4 

• At approximately 2:26 a.m, Alaska State Troopers received a report from Kodiak Police Department requesting medical assistance. Troopers responded and the individual was transported to Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center for further evaluation.

• At approximately 8:49 a.m., Alaska State Troopers received a call regarding a civil issue.

• At approximately 1:26 p.m., Alaska State Troopers received a call regarding possible fraud in the Kodiak Island Borough. An investigation is ongoing.

• At approximately 4:23 p.m., Alaska State Troopers received a call of a motor home fire at the intersection of Lake Orbin Drive and Womens Bay Drive in Kodiak. Troopers arrived on scene, and subsequent investigation revealed the vehicle overheated and ignited in flames.

OCT. 6

• At approximately 8:27 a.m., Alaska State Troopers received a call regarding a civil issue in Kodiak.

• At approximately 8:36 a.m., Alaska State Troopers received a request to assist the Kodiak Police Department.

• At approximately 8:53 a.m., Alaska State Troopers received a report of a theft in Kodiak. An investigation is ongoing.

• At approximately 10:42 a.m., Alaska State Troopers received a request from the Kodiak Police Department to conduct a patrol of a local neighborhood.

• At approximately 2:58 p.m., Alaska State Troopers received a report to assist a motorist in Kodiak. Vehicle was off the roadway and not a hazard.

OCT. 7 

• At approximately 11:23 a.m., the Alaska State Troopers received a request for a patrol in Kodiak. An investigation is ongoing.

• At approximately 9:09 p.m., Alaska State Troopers received a report from a complainant stating they had hit a deer while driving. Troopers responded.

OCT. 8 

• At approximately 8:56 a.m., Alaska State Troopers received a call for public assistance in Kodiak. Troopers were notified, and the individual had their request resolved.

• At approximately 10:45 a.m., Alaska State Troopers in Kodiak received a report of a possible sexual assault in a village in the Kodiak Island Borough. An investigation is ongoing.

• At approximately 2:05 p.m., Alaska State Troopers in Kodiak received a call regarding a civil complaint. Troopers advised the complainant of their options.

• At approximately 4:10 p.m., Alaska State Troopers in the Kodiak Island Borough received a call regarding a public disturbance. Troopers responded and noticed nothing out of the ordinary.

• At approximately 4:13 p.m., Alaska State Troopers received a call for medical assistance in Kodiak. Troopers responded to the individual, and EMS was dispatched. The individual was taken by EMS to a local medical facility.

• At approximately 4:38 p.m., Alaska State Troopers received a call regarding public assistance to follow up on a prior incident.

• At approximately 7:48 p.m, Alaska State Troopers in Kodiak were notified of an SOS beacon activation via an IN-REACH device. IERCC was able to provide GPS coordinates for the activated device. Investigation revealed the individual was out on a charter boat F/V Sundy, a 53-foot vessel registered to Ninilchik Charters out of Ninilchik. Troopers contacted Ninilchik Charters, which was able to confirm the party was picked up from shore at about the same time as the device was activated and all parties were accounted for. No emergency existed.

• At approximately 6:57 p.m., Alaska State Troopers received a 911 hang-up call. The Kodiak Police Department responded.

• At approximately 10:18 p.m., Alaska State Troopers received a call regarding an assault in Kodiak. Troopers responded and separated the individuals. Charges have been forwarded.
