Posted: Friday, March 22, 2019 9:14 am

The board for Fire Protection Area No. 1 decided to push a major renovation project for the Bayside Volunteer Fire Department station off by a year following a robust discussion Tuesday night.

According to board chair Paul VanDyke, the original goal was to use about $180,000 in its current fund balance in addition to budgeted capital funds to replace the siding, doors and windows for the fire station, including its classroom, for a total of $264,000. The project was budgeted for the 2020 fiscal year.
