July 9

At 1:07 a.m., police responded to multiple people in the square in the 300 block of Center Avenue. They arrested one man on suspicion of violating conditions of release and having an open container.

At 2:30 a.m., police cited a driver in the 800 block of East Rezanof Drive for having no proof of insurance.

At 2:55 a.m., police responded to a man in the square in the 300 block of Center Avenue. He did not meet protective custody criteria.

At 8:58 a.m., a citizen reported a short man passed out at the post office who had also urinated on the floor. He did not meet protective custody criteria and left when police asked.

At 10:55 a.m., police red tagged an abandoned vehicle on Hemlock Street.

At 11:19 a.m., a citizen reported a loose chocolate lab in the middle of the street at the end of Shearwater Street. A child did not latch the gate properly, and the dog was reunited with the owner.

At 11:29 a.m., a citizen reported she observed a possible homeless man open a door to an abandoned car in the 600 block of East Marine Way and collapse in the vehicle. It was ok.

At 1:42 p.m., a citizen reported two subjects yelling and screaming on Thorsheim Street, and they asked police to remove her form the premises. The woman agreed to stay elsewhere for the night.

At 4:02 p.m., a person reported two people should not be at the residence on Hemlock Street. Patrolling officers were advised.

At 4:30 p.m., a woman reported an injured magpie in her yard on Mission Road. It was dead when police arrived.

At 5:45 p.m., a citizen reported a man broke into a disabled vehicle and was sitting inside it on Yukon Street. The owner declined to press charges.

At 6:33 p.m., police warned a speeding driver in the 1200 block of Mill Bay Road.

At 7:18 p.m., a person reported a fight in progress in the 400 block of West Marine Way. A man was arrested on suspicion of assault in the fourth degree.

At 10:50 pm., a citizen in the 900 block of East Rezanof Drive called concerned about a report of her boyfriend who had a gun possibly acting weird. They called back and said they spoke to the man who said everything was fine. No one answered the door.

At 11:40 p.m., a man reported he was walking by his former residence when a man walked outside and threatened him in the Willow and Hemlock streets area. The police saw no weapon, and the caller decided to not pursue charges.

July 10 

At 12:16 a.m., a man reported he was lost and didn’t know his exact location but he was running from a bear he encountered on Near Island. Police found him safe.

At 11:14 a.m., a person reported a suspicious man in the 1600 block of 14th Avenue taking pictures and videos of houses who took off when he noticed he was being watched. Police patrolled the area and did not find anyone matching the description.

At 1:46 p.m., a person reported a neighbor abandoned an iguana, and they have it contained in a tote on Ismailov Street. It was taken to the shelter.

At 5:57 p.m., a person reported a big pet bunny running loose on Lynden Way. It was taken to the shelter.

At 7:48 p.m., a woman in the 400 block of Marine Way reported she keeps seeing a man and was concerned for her safety. Police advised her to call if he violates the restraining order or threatens her in any way.
