An auto-pedestrian accident Saturday evening took the life of a 64-year-old Kodiak resident.

Angela Cabrera Saculles was treated at the scene of the accident by Kodiak Fire Department EMTs and transported to Providence Kodiak Medical Center but efforts to revive her were unsuccessful.

The accident, near the intersection of Mill Bay Road and Ole Johnson Avenue, closed one of the main transportation arteries in Kodiak for more than two hours as crews from the Kodiak Police Department investigated the scene.

The KPD said the accident occurred at about 7:22 p.m. and Saculles was struck in the eastbound lane of Mill Bay Road.

Police are continuing their investigation but foul play is not suspected in the incident.
