Break-in at Chiniak post office

Posted: Monday, July 11, 2016 1:45 pm

No arrests have been made in connection to Thursday’s break-in at the Chiniak Post Office, as local law enforcement await a decision by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service on whether it will take over the case.

According to Trooper Ryan Lott, he was driving home from work at approximately 2 a.m. when he observed “suspicious activity” near the Chiniak Post Office. He made contact with a person at this time, but was unable to make an arrest because, “There wasn’t enough for me to do anything further.”
