Activities may be a bit different at the center this summer but there are still a number from which to choose.
Our yoga instructor, Veronica Costa-Bolton, is taking off this summer but we do have video yoga on Mondays at 9:30. Veronica will return this fall to teach her popular class.
We’ve incorporated some outdoor exercise with walks each Wednesday and Friday at 9:30. Come join your friends in celebrating the season with a walk and talk.
Exercise with Katrina and Ryan continues each Thursday, and Beverly has added some crafts for August.
The Senior Center band is grooving on some great music each Friday at 1 p.m. If you play or did play an instrument at one time in your life, this is the time to pick it up again and join the group.
The next lunch and learn will be at the Kodiak Wildlife Refuge at noon Aug. 20.
Foot clinic is scheduled for Aug. 11 so please call for an appointment.
We will have a summer picnic and ice cream social Aug 15, and a family caregiver support exchange is scheduled at 1230 on Aug 21. The international lunch for August is British so that means its fish and chips time.
If you have suggestions for an activity you would like to have at the center, please contact Beverly. All of our instructors are volunteers, and we appreciate their time in providing great activities.
And speaking of volunteers, we are always looking for new volunteers to assist at the center. If you are 18 and over and have free time on your hands, please stop by the center and complete a volunteer application. We will find an activity that suits you and your skills.
