Alaska passes smoking ban

Posted: Tuesday, May 15, 2018 9:00 am

Alaska lawmakers finally passed a bill banning smoking indoors in most public places Saturday. The bill will now proceed to the governor’s desk for his signature.

SB 63 bans smoking in bars, restaurants, retail stores, sports arenas, ferries, taxi cabs, apartment common areas and other enclosed spaces. Alaska is currently one of 14 states that does not have a similar smoking ban.
