Commercial salmon fishing will end at 9 p.m. today in the Spiridon Bay Special Harvest Area, but it’s the only place fishing closes any time soon.

The Alaska Department of Fish and Game announced Sunday that commercial salmon fishing in the Sitkalidak and Outer Ugak sections of the Eastside Kodiak District has been extended until 9 p.m. Thursday.

Commercial salmon fishing will open Tuesday until 9 p.m. Thursday in the Central, North Cape, Spiridon Bay and Zachar Bay sections of the Northwest Kodiak District; The Southwest Afognak, Northwest Afognak, Shuyak Island, Pauls Bay and Perenosa Bay sections of the Afognak District; and the Mainland District.

Several salmon fishing areas will remain open until further notice:

• The Inner Chiniak, Outer Chiniak and Buskin River sections of the Northeast Kodiak District;

• The Humpy-Deadman Section of the Alitak District;

• The Two-Headed and Seven Rivers sections of Eastside Kodiak District; and

• The Inner Ayakulik and Outer Ayakulik sections of the Southwest Kodiak District.
