Evictions hearings for some Jackson Mobile Home Park residents continued Thursday.

Three residents appeared before the magistrate, who served as a master in the hearings. A master hears evidence and makes a recommendation to the judge based on that evidence.

Another hearing was held July 19.

In total, the court has heard 10 eviction proceedings since the May 2 mov- out deadline stated in a notice served to tenants in May 2015. According to the testimony of James Pickett, an agent of Jackson Mobile Home Park Inc., 24 lots have been vacated at the park since April.

The magistrate indicated he would likely recommend a Sept. 30 move-out date for the evicted residents. Once his recommendations are made available, each party will have 10 days to file an objection before Judge Steven Cole makes a ruling.

A ruling in previous cases between the park and residents Judi Kidder and David Masinter, who argued their evictions were retaliatory in nature, is pending a final judgment from Cole after a July 13 evidentiary hearing.
