Spring is here, so are the bears

The arrival of spring in Kodiak means more light, warmer days — and increased bear activity, according to Alaska Department of Fish and Game wildlife biologist John Crye.

Crye said that several sightings of one bear in town have already been reported, mostly on local social media pages such as “Bear Aware” on Facebook.
