July 10

At 12:16 a.m., a man reported he was lost and didn’t know his exact location but he was running from a bear he encountered on Near Island. Police found him safe.

At 11:14 a.m., a person reported a suspicious man in the 1600 block of 14th Avenue taking pictures and videos of houses who took off when he noticed he was being watched. Police patrolled the area and did not find anyone matching the description.

At 1:46 p.m., a person reported a neighbor abandoned an iguana, and they have it contained in a tote on Ismailov Street. It was taken to the shelter.

At 5:57 p.m., a person reported a big pet bunny running loose on Lynden Way. It was taken to the shelter.

At 7:48 p.m., a woman in the 400 block of Marine Way reported she keeps seeing a man and was concerned for her safety. Police advised her to call if he violates the restraining order or threatens her in any way.

July 11 

At 1:11 a.m., a person reported bottle rockets being set off in the Pillar Mountain and Hillside Drive. Patrolling officers were advised.

At 11:59 a.m., police forwarded charges for two women for criminal trespass in the 2900 block of Mill Bay Road

At 1:36 p.m., a man moved a vehicle out of the red zone on Shelikof Street when police asked.

At 2:15 p.m., police conducted a routine animal patrol of the Monashka area.

At 3:19 p.m., a person reported a possible dangerous driver at Mile 1 West Rezanof Drive. Police located the vehicle, and the driver passed all field sobriety tests.

At 3:21 p.m., a person requested extra patrols of the 300 block of Center Avenue. Police did so.

At 3:55 p.m., a man reported a specific person may have stolen an item from his vehicle in the 2900 block of Mill Bay Road. It’s under investigation.

At 5:09 p.m., a man reported a gas can was stolen from his vehicle in the 400 block of West Marine Way. It’s under investigation.

At 6:50 p.m., a person requested a welfare check on a woman lying on the ground in the 200 block of West Marine Way, and they were concerned she was passed out. She was just sleeping.

At 9:04 p.m., police arrested a man in the 500 block of West Marine Way on suspicion of criminal trespass and a domestic violence restraining order violation.

At 9:08 p.m., a citizen turned in a wallet found on Alimaq Drive. It was placed into evidence for safekeeping.

At 11:12 p.m., a person reported two men fighting in the 200 block of Ole Johnson Avenue and asked for police help removing them from the premises. Police found not evidence of fighting and no injuries. One man left at the request of the other residences.

July 12 

At 1:05 a.m., a person asked that a man be criminally banned form their property in the 200 block of West Rezanof Drive. Police did so, and he left without incident.

At 1:31 a.m., police arrested a man in the 300 block of Shelikof Street on suspicion of criminal trespass and violating conditions of release.

At 11:12 a.m., police warned a speeding driver in the Armstrong Avenue and East Rezanof Drive area.

At 11:36 a.m., police warned a driver in the 2500 block of East Rezanof Drive for failing to stop at a stop sign.

At 1:46 p.m., police conducted a routine animal patrol of the Monashka area.

At 1:59 p.m., a person reported four men yelling, cussing and drinking in the 300 block of Center Avenue. It was quiet when police arrived, and they saw no open containers.

At 3:11 p.m., a person reported his fiancé has been destroying his things and threatening him with weapons. They wanted it logged in case, ‘anything happens in the future.’

At 3:48 p.m., a man reported he lost his wallet in the 600 block of Egan Way. Patrolling officers were advised.

At 6:16 p.m., police responded to a man panhandling in the 500 block of West Marine Way. He left when police asked.

At 6:48 p.m., a person reported two loose dogs in the Von Scheele Way and Selief Lane area. Police were unable to locate either.

At 6:53 p.m., a person reported two men having an altercation in the 300 block of Center Avenue. Police found no altercation, and the parties separate when police asked.

At 10:06 p.m., a person requested a welfare check on a man lying on the ground in the 1400 block of Rezanof Drive. He was able to walk on his own and did not meet protective custody criteria.
