August 3

Alaska Wildlife Troopers issued a citation to a 33-year-old Kodiak for failing to release a snagged pink salmon. Bail was set at $130.

At approximately 5:40 p.m., AWT contacted a Kodiak woman sport fishing on Russian Creek. Investigation revealed the woman had not purchased a sport fish license and she was issued a citation for sport fishing without a license. Bail was set at $200.

August 4

At approximately 6:40 p.m., Alaska State Troopers in Anchor Point responded to a possible disturbance at a residence off Deep Creek Road in Ninilchik. While on scene, a vehicle associated with the address drove by and was contacted for numerous equipment violations. A passenger in the vehicle was identified as a 26-year-old Kodiak man with two felony warrants out of Kodiak for numerous felonies. The man was arrested, transported and remanded into the Homer Jail, where he was held on $10,000 cash bail with a third party custodian requirement.

At approximately 11 p.m., troopers received a report of an intoxicated individual on board a commercial airline at the Benny Benson State Airport. Investigation revealed a 32-year-old ticketed passenger was initially denied boarding due to his level of intoxication. Investigation also revealed the intoxicated man left the terminal, accessed the tarmac through a security fence and boarded the plane. He was removed from the airport without incident and issued an Alaska uniform citation for second degree criminal trespass, to appear in court at a later date.

August 5

A 33-year-old Pennsylvania man was cited for failing to salvage all the edible meat of a caribou taken on Kodiak Island.

August 6

AWT in Juneau cited a 32-year-old Kodiak man after he had harvested a deer on the Juneau road system for failing to have his deer harvest tickets in possession. The man was cited into the District Court at Juneau with bail set at $160.

August 10

AWT cited a 42-year-old Washington man for not having his Alaska commercial crewmember license in his possession, and his employer, a 43-year-old Sand Point man, for employing a crewmember who didn’t have his crewmember license as required. Each received a $250 bailable citation.
