A two-car collision on Mill Bay Road saw dozens of emergency workers from the Kodiak police and fire departments and the Coast Guard trying to extricate the driver from a totaled truck early Monday evening.

More than a dozen rescue workers worked in the rain to extricate a driver from a Dodge Durango that was hit on its right side. After rescuers deployed the Jaws of Life, the driver was successfully moved from the vehicle, showing a bloodied air bag and the demolished interior of the car.

“There were no fatalities,” Sgt. Michael Chiesa of the Kodiak Police Department told the Mirror.
