Air Station Kodiak conducts medevac

Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak’s new HC-130J was used in its first search and rescue mission Tuesday night when an aircrew medevaced a 21-year-old male from Adak to Cold Bay, according to a Coast Guard news release.

According to the release, the man was experiencing chest pains when he was medevaced. Upon arrival at Cold Bay, he was safely taken to an awaiting air ambulance to be transported to Anchorage for higher level medical care due to a collapsed lung.
