NPFMC asks for more info as fish shift from Kodiak processors

After vocal protests from Kodiak fishermen and the governments of both the city and borough, the North Pacific Fishery Management Council has announced it will take a deeper look at fish tendering issues in the Gulf of Alaska.

With a 6-5 vote, the council approved a motion by councilman Duncan Fields to monitor the number and activity of Gulf tenders through the end of the year and report the findings at the council’s December meeting.
