John Raymond Heine of Kodiak

On February 3, 2019, John Raymond Heine, passed away.  John was born in Walla Walla, Washington, October 25, 1965, but grew up on Kodiak Island after he moved with his parents, Marvin and Clara, and brother, Mike, to Kodiak, AK in 1969.   John will forever be remembered by his children; Chyian (Juan), Nnekyia, and Tristina (Kalani), and his grandchildren; Teyven, Alizae, Clara, Azalia, Timothy, Ezra, and Marvin. He will also be remembered with great fondness by his extended family and friends.  John spent his life dedicated to taking care of his family. He had several different jobs in his life, commercial fishing, welder/fabricator and as a heavy machine operator. Most of all he loved being on the slope and taking wildlife photos while there. John loved telling stories of all the different jobs and experiences he had in life. He was known for his sense of humor, quick sarcastic wit and his laugh.  John was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Clara Heine, brother; Mike Heine, and his wife; Mary “Doreen” Heine.A memorial service & potluck celebration of his life will be held at the American Legion in Kodiak, 318 Center Ave. at 3pm on Saturday, February 23, 2019. His service and celebration of life is open to the public. Please feel free to bring a dish and any stories of John that you have.
