Christine Marie Marshall, 74, died October 31, 2018, at Kodiak Chiniak Bay Elder House. Christine was born on February 20, 1944, in Kodiak to John and Blanche Marshall.

Her family later moved to Afognak for Barbara Crozier and Mary Light’s vacation. She then moved to Sand Point, until attending high school in Seattle. She studied French and became a French teacher. She then sought adventure in the Peace Corps in Africa. She worked in France helping to distribute Bibles in Russia. She also lived in Croatia during the war in the 1990s. During the intermittent bombing Christine brought food to the elderly widows and grandmothers who couldn’t go to the market for food. Once, while riding her bike she had an accident and was hospitalized. She had a white bandage around her head and was soon getting up and walking around helping the other patients.
