Monte Nugent passed away on Nov. 5, 2018.

Monte was the epitome of an outdoors man. Since he was 2 years old he wanted to go outside. It has been said, “Monte could catch a fish in a mud puddle.” He loved to take his kids fishing, and he was never more proud than when his daughter Autumn caught a King Salmon that was bigger than she was. Kai followed his sister’s lead and caught his first fish this year but had to release it. Monte reached the honor of Distinguished Rifleman when he was in high school. This accomplishment served him well. He loved to go hunting with family and friends. When he was in 7th grade he shot his first moose that just happened to measure 60 inches across the horns. These horns hung on the wall of the science teacher in the middle school until Mr. Baker retired. When he was in college, and after, Monte developed life long friends who loved to hunt and fish with him.
