Long time former Kodiak resident Thomas Michael Ekin passed away on May 2, 2019 in Haverhills, Massachusetts. There will be a celebration of life for Thomas “Tom” Ekin at Tony’s 518 W. Marine Way, Kodiak, Alaska 99615 on May 18th, 2019 at 3pm. This will be a combined celebration of life with his beloved brother, Gerald Doug Ekin who preceded him in death on May 1, 2019.

Tom’s fire red hair matched his fire for sports, fishing, and the outdoors. He was a comedian at heart, an adventurous traveler and independent person who loved his family! He left his painting mark in places like the Kodiak “E” club in a wonderful mural, light houses on the east coast and houses from Alaska to Maine where he resided preceding his death. Tom was a beloved husband, father, brother and friend. Tom was preceded in death by his father and mother Robert & Zoe Ekin and his son Scott Thomas Ekin. He is survived by his wife Nannette Ekin, Daughter Amanda Ekin Kinney and Husband Tyler Kinney, his brother Bob Ekin wife Patsy Ekin, sisters Marsha Nichols and Janet Cumming and husband Daniel Cumming, numerous nieces, nephews, & cousins.
