Each year, the month of September is designated National Senior Center Month by the National Council on Aging. This year’s theme is “Delivering Vital Connections: Mind, Body, Spirit, Community.” 

Kodiak Senior Center continues to provide basic services to people 60 and older. Home-delivered meals are not only for Monday-Friday but also for the weekend for those who need them. Congregate meals are now in a drive-up or curbside venue from noon until 1 p.m. Monday through Friday.

It is pretty quiet at the senior center this month but some events will happen. We won’t have yoga on Monday or Thursday or Tai Chi, but you can always go for a hike or walk at nearby trails. That is one of the best things about living in Kodiak — the scenic trails that are easy to walk.
