• Kodiak resident Isaac Fields has been named to the fall 2012 Dean’s List at Azusa Pacific University in southern California. Fields, a chemistry major, achieved a grade-point average of 3.5 or better, sharing the honor with 1,698 other students at the 10,000-person campus.

• Leila Pyle of Kodiak and Chloe Hawkins of Old Harbor have returned to the archipelago after attending the Alaska Youth for Environmental Action’s Civics and Conservation summit in Juneau last week.

Twenty teens from across the state lobbied the Alaska Legislature for action on efforts to spur local food production.

• The Kodiak Noon and Morning Rotary clubs have named Deborah Bitanga, Kerry Powers, Hannah Fish, Max Mutch, Natalie Meus and Ashley Roher as the winners of the 2013 Rotary Youth Leadership Awards. Tessa Brown and Astrid Schick were named alternates.
