Megan Stalhut

Megan Stahlhut competed at the Alaska Academic Decathlon February 19-22. She won three medals: a gold in the SuperQuiz event, silver in her 50-minute essay, and bronze for the overall large school team score.

The AcaDeca theme for this school year was World War I. Students competed in 10 subjects: art, music, mathematics, science, speech, interview, essay, social science, economics, and language and literature. Teams also competed in the SuperQuiz, a hodge-podge of six subjects, although this team event did not contribute towards overall team score.

Megan, a senior, is homeschooled through IDEA, a statewide program. Megan is the only student from Kodiak to compete with the IDEA AcaDeca team. She also competed in AcaDeca in her sophomore and junior years.
