The Kodiak Alaska State Troopers responded to a motor vehicle collision on Lilly Drive Friday evening at 9:51 p.m. An investigation of the incident revealed that an unknown driver struck an unoccupied building. The driver left the scene prior to AST being notified, but signs of red paint were found. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Kodiak AST at 486-4121 or Kodiak Crime Stoppers.
• Kodiak Alaska State Troopers responded to a single vehicle rollover on Spruce Cape Friday evening. Upon arrival, AST made contact with driverIan Harper, 19, and passenger Alexis Shogan, 18.
AST determined that Harper drove his vehicle in a manner unsafe for the road conditions, causing the rollover. Further investigation showed Shogan had been drinking. Harper was issued a citation for negligent driving and Shogan was issued a citation for minor consuming alcohol. Both were then released from the scene.
• Kodiak Alaska Wildlife Troopers issued a summons for 22-year-old Mark Joiner on three counts of taking a deer after the season closed, and three counts of using artificial light while hunting. AWT’s investigation revealed that Joiner allegedly harvested three Sitka black-tailed deer illegally on the Kodiak Road System earlier Saturday morning. General deer hunting season closed Oct. 31. Joiner is due in Kodiak District Court on Jan. 18.
