Shad Austin Loveland, 21, passed away suddenly in his home on July 14, 2016. He was born in Kodiak on Sept. 8, 1994, to Kelley and Breck Loveland.
Shad is survived by his mom, Kelley Donaldson Loveland of Kodiak; younger sisters, Madison Rose and Shayla Paige Loveland of Kodiak; older sister, Mercedes Loveland of Winchendon, Massachusetts; and father, Breck Loveland of Elma, Washington.
Shad loved being in the woods and going on adventures. Shad would always say that being in nature was his therapy. He loved hunting, fishing, “Star Wars,” playing X-Box, and his three best friends, Nathan Donaldson, Luis Santiago and Quest Rhoades. Shad also had done yard work for some people in Kodiak, and he really enjoyed it.
Shad will be greatly missed. He was a prankster and always made his family and friends laugh. Shad grew up in New Hampshire, from the age of 2 to 18, and then spent three years in Washington state before moving back here to his birthplace of Kodiak, Alaska.
He spent his last year exploring the island and spending time with his family. His favorite hike was Termination Point.
A memorial bench will be made in remembrance of Shad, who we love so much.
