Kodiak Fish and Game Advisory Committee meeting

A Kodiak Fish and Game Advisory Committee meeting is Tuesday, Feb. 15, at 1 p.m. at the Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge Visitors Center. The committee will discuss and take action on the remaining game proposals left over from the Feb. 12 meeting and statewide king and tanner crab proposals. Boating safety class

The Kodiak flotilla of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary offers an 8-hour boating safety class Saturday, Feb. 19, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The class meets in the P-Cod Room of Building N-27 (the commissary) on the Kodiak Coast Guard base.

Topics covered include trailoring, emergency procedures, legal requirements of boating, and life jackets. Completion of the course is good for insurance discounts.
