Larsen Bay Tribal Council’s new anti-tobacco youth activities program, Club Creative, gathers twice a week to discuss the negative effects of smoking.
Its first project was tie-dying anti-tobacco t-shirts, Kara Darling, Club Creative coordinator reports.
The Kodiak Area Native Association donated t-shirts proclaiming “smoke salmon not cigarettes.”
“We had a great turn out and the kids had a blast,” Darling said.
“Recently Larsen Bay Tribal has passed a Tobacco Free Resolution and in support KANA was able to donate supplies for Club Creative,” she added.
