University of Portland cross country runner Trevor Dunbar, a 2009 Kodiak High School graduate, placed 31st at the NCAA Pre-National Invitational on Saturday in Indiana.

Dunbar, who placed fourth for his team, covered the 8-kilometer course in 24 minutes, 15.00 seconds.

Portland placed fourth as a team behind Stanford, Colorado and BYU.

University of Idaho cross country runner Sam Salus, a 2009 KHS graduate, placed 20th at the Inland Northwest Cross Country Challenge.

Salus, who placed second for Idaho, covered the 8K course in 25:39.04.
