Lindsey Glenn (left) and Alyzza Lacaste haul a garbage can of kelp to a waiting van at Mission Beach.
Members of Glenn's Kodiak High School Leadership Class took advantage of Tuesday's low tide at Mission Beach Tuesday morning to collect kelp in buckets and garbage cans. They delivered the kelp to the Kodiak Community garden, and distributed it on the raised beds to enhance the soil. “I encourage the students to get involved in school improvement projects and community service projects,” said Glenn.
